The term of one of the special district seats will be expiring in May, 2012. Humboldt LAFCo is soliciting nominations for a special district representative to serve for the next four-year term, 2012-2016.  The special district representative elected will serve as a “voting member”. 

A nomination must be approved by a Special District governing body.  Humboldt LAFCo will accept nominations for any elected or appointed board member residing within Humboldt County. Nomination forms must be submitted to the Humboldt LAFCo office by 5:00 p.m. on March 7, 2012. Nomination forms may be submitted via postal mail (1125 16th Street, Suite 202, Arcata, CA 95521), fax (825-9181), or e-mail (execofficer@humboldtlafco.org).

At the end of the nomination period, a ballot of candidates with voting instructions will be sent to each special district by certified or electronic mail at the end of March. The District’s governing body will then have until May 4, 2012 to meet, vote for the nominated district officers, and mail back the ballot.
